Susan's Story, Antarctica & South America, January 2018
Probably the most historically-significant ruins in South America are at Tihianaku in Bolivia an hour or so from La Paz and near Lake Titicaca. For over twentyfive hundred years this was the capital of the culture contolled by priests that extended through Peru, Bolivia, Northern Chilie, & Argentina. They were an amazingly advanced culture that controlled the trading routes. For about three hundred years they were controlled by a king known as an Inka and thus the name the Spanish gave of the Inkas. /susanClick a photo to view or click first photo to see a slide show.
