Susan's Story, SE Asia, S China Sea & Down Under Cruise, Feb 2017
Our first ever visit to the small whaling town of Eden. This is the most southerly town in New South Wales and at the bottom end of the Sapphire Coast area. Eden is most known for its long storied whaling history. Here the aboriginal population were successfully employed in the whaling industry and the local Orcas hearded the humbpack and right whales into Two Fold Bay where the whalers killed the whales, then allowed the orcas to eat their fill before the whales were rowed to shore. The most famous of the Orcas was Old Tom whose skeleton is in the Killer Whale Museum. /susanClick a photo to view or click first photo to see a slide show.
